The short version: We collect only what we need to run JumpShip. We never sell your data. We never share it with your employer. Your compensation information is yours.

JumpShip ("JumpShip," "we," "us," or "our") is a product of KJ2 Precision LLC, a Texas limited liability company. Our website is located at jumpshp.com. You can contact us at info@jumpshp.com.
JumpShip provides a total compensation calculator, application tracker, and related career tools designed for process operators and skilled trades workers.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account information — name and email address when you create a free account
- Compensation data — hourly rate, benefits, shift schedule, and other job details you enter into the calculator
- Application data — company names, job titles, dates, and notes you add to your application tracker
- Waitlist signups — email address when you join our waitlist
- Crowdsourced data — compensation and benefits information you voluntarily and anonymously submit to our benefits database
Information collected automatically:
- Basic usage data (pages visited, features used) via standard analytics
- Device type, browser type, and general location (city/state level only)
- IP address for security purposes
Information we do NOT collect:
- Your Social Security Number or government ID
- Credit card or banking information (processed by Stripe when payments are enabled)
- Your employer's internal systems or confidential company data
- Any information about your coworkers
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the JumpShip calculator, tracker, and related tools
- To save your job profile so it auto-populates on return visits
- To send you product updates, feature announcements, and your requested waitlist notifications
- To aggregate anonymous compensation data for the benefits database
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- To comply with applicable laws
4. How We Do NOT Use Your Information
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We will never share your compensation data with your employer, any employer, or any company you are applying to. Your job search activity is completely private.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your account data and saved job profiles are stored securely. Compensation data you enter into the calculator is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to save your profile or submit to the benefits database.
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. User-Submitted Benefits Database
JumpShip offers an optional crowdsourced benefits database where users may voluntarily submit compensation and benefits data. All submissions to the benefits database are:
- Anonymous — your name and account are never attached to submitted data
- Voluntary — you are never required to submit data
- User-generated — JumpShip does not verify, guarantee, or endorse the accuracy of submitted data
JumpShip is protected under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act as a platform for user-generated content. We are not the publisher or speaker of user-submitted compensation information.
7. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- ConvertKit (Kit) — email marketing and waitlist management
- Netlify — website hosting
- Stripe — payment processing (when payments are enabled)
- Google Fonts — typography
We do not share your personal data with these services beyond what is necessary to provide their services.
8. Cookies
JumpShip uses minimal cookies and browser storage (localStorage) to:
- Keep you logged in to your account
- Save your calculator preferences and job profile locally
- Remember whether you've dismissed certain notices
We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not participate in cross-site tracking.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request we correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — request we delete your account and associated data

10. Age Requirement
JumpShip is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. By using JumpShip, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account and associated data. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Your continued use of JumpShip after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
